Welcome to the new Audio Expert Blog! Here we will let you in on the day to day happenings at the shop, and you'll get the first look at new products and innovations!
June 2011 - Obviously we have been a little slow at keeping up with the shop blog! We will be trying to remember to update at least once a week with new products and ideas! We've been very busy this year, 2011 is certainly our strongest year ever! As we grow we are adding more items every day, and if there is anything you'd like to see let us know!
January 17 - 2011 is here and going strong! After a great December we are starting the new year off with lots of work, lots of great sounding system, and lots of fun! Also we're added a new addition to the website, a separate section devoted to Audio Expert Motorsports! Watch for this soon!
November 11 - Be aware this Saturday, November 13 is the Ironman Triathalon! Much of northern and central Pinellas County will have roads closed for the bike and running courses. We will be opening at noon and will stay open until 5pm. Most of the Ironman traffic problems will be cleared by 1pm, so we encourage you to come visit us and hear real sound quality!
October 14 - We're back from Texas! We had a great time at MERA Knowledgefest, and we learned a lot of great information! Of the nearly 100 Tampa Bay area shops only TWO shops felt that current training and information is important enough to go to this event, and Audio Expert is one of those two. Nobody knows everything, and we all must continue learning to truly stay the EXPERT in our field. We are committed to that!!
September 3 - Its been a while since I've posted another blog, and we're still busy all the time! Summer is almost over and the little ones are back to school. It's a great time to think about adding those video systems to keep them entertained and Bluetooth handsfree kits to keep the road safe!
July 19 - A very busy Florida summer indeed! The problem with Apple's iOS4 seems to have come to a resolution, as most companies have started shipping products with built in solutions. We will be closed this coming Friday, Saturday, and Monday while we travel to visit family! Keep sending in questions though, as we'll be answering emails all weekend!
June 29 - Be sure to see our new page on the Apple iOS4 situation! With the release of this new software Apple has thrown a wrench into the gears of the car stereo world. For whatever reason Apple has made the software difficult to work with most of the existing iPod adapters on the market. We already have solutions for some products, and more are on the way.
June 14 - Been a while since our last update, sorry for that! We have been hammered with cars in the last month. Arc Audio amps and speakers and Sony head units are flying out the door. I encourage everyone to stop by with your favorite CD to take a listen to a great quality system. Until you hear what real quality sounds like, you have no idea!
May 11 - Still going strong! It's been steady and doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. Pinellas county seems to know where to go for the BEST quality work! Everyone called me crazy for opening Audio Expert during the worst part of the recession back in late 2008. I knew that even though the economy was bad, people still wanted this type of work. But it HAD to be done right and with the utmost care. That's our philosophy that is followed on every job we do, large or small. We'll take care of you better than the other guys!
April 21 - Another busy month! Lots of fleet and dealership work this month. Car sales must be brisk! We have new Bluetooth head units that will allow you to use your phone handsfree in your vehicle. Florida will likely enact a "no talking while driving law" very soon and this will have you prepared and safe!
March 31 - Another FDOS race day took place on Sunday for Audio Expert RC Racing. This race was at Dover RC Raceway in Seffner, the biggest track the we will see all year. With the threat of rain I decided to only race one class. The points are close in the 4wd late model class and we needed a good day in that car. The first heat race went well and we were qualified 3rd after round one. Going into round 2 i made some changes on the car to help it corner better. Once the second race started the car was faster, but it took me too long to get into a rhythm and I lost some time early in the race. By the end we turned a faster race than the earlier heat, but still sat 3rd on the qualifying charts. Before the mains could begin the rains came and ended our day early with 3rd place points. This is enough to keep the points close, and next month we return to Dover for the 4th race of the series.
March 30 - It's been a busy month at Audio Expert! Lots of cars have been in getting systems for summer cruising and shows. There is lots of time left to come get into our spring specials!
March 3 - This morning we discovered the phone company had improperly directed many of our calls into a voicemail box that we had no access to, and had never set up. Of course as with any phone company issue it took a few hours of calling various departments around the world, but they were able to repair it. If anyone has called us in the recent weeks and either been directed to a voicemail box or heard that the voicemail box was full please let us know. We are trying to assemble a rough count of how many customers were affected by someone's careless mistake!
March 1 - A new month, and more new parts are here. Arc XXD Amplifiers, which utilize special technology to make them smaller than normal and run cooler than most amplifiers. One of the biggest complaints about adding great sounding bass is the amount of space that used to need to be taken up. No more! With XXD amplifers and subwoofers you can get great sound without compromising your cargo space. Come on in for a demo. Bring your favorite CD's, and hear music the way it was intended!
Feb 27 - Wow, an end to as busy week and a busy month! Thanks to everyone who came in to get their rides tuned up this month. Arc Audio, JVC, and Autopage products were all hot! Next week more Arc Audio products will come rolling in, and the new 2010 model head units are slowly coming in. It's time to go home and change, as i managed to kneel down in a puddle of water while working on a car this morning. The joys of being an installer!
Feb 24 - I got my first shipment of the new Sony entry level cd players in today, and I'm quite impressed! Very good sound quality, easy to use and a front panel aux in for your Ipod, all for under 90$? People will love it!
Feb 22 - Audio Expert RC Racing competed in the FDOS event in Ocala yesterday with some success! In our primary class, the 4wd late model we had a tough first heat race that resulted in a DNF with a broken steering part. The Audio Expert car was able to race into the A main with a solid second qualifier and earned the 6th starting position in the A main. At the end of the race we had moved up to finish in 3rd place, not a bad finish considering the way the day started. In our other class, the 2wd late model we are still in the learning phase. After having engine troubles for weeks I dropped in my last resort, an old engine that hasn't been run in nearly 2 years. I wasn't even sure it would start, but sure enough it fired right to life. The car handled well with with no time to tune the engine the qualifiers were too slow, and we ended up in the C main. That meant we needed to finish in the top 2 to move up to the B, then finish in the top 2 of that race to main the primary A main race. For half of the race I was able to hold second place, until a car who was a lap down at the time decided to drive though our car, instead of around it. This knocked us back to 3rd as i got the car out of the muddy infield, and we would fall to 4th as i tried to get the car going again. We would finish in the 4th spot, but even that was a measured success after the amount of mechanical trouble we've had with that car. The next event is a Lil Dover RC Speedway in Dover, FL on March 20th. Come on out and see us there!
